Study on the Bacterial Index and Blood Concentrain of DDS in Fastidious Cases of Lepromatous Leprosy

Abstract
The Bacterial indes(BI) and blood concentration of DDS(BC) in hard to cure 56 ca:,es of Iepromatous leprosy to evaluate the effect of DDS were follow up studied from 1965 to 1971 with clinical signs, hemoglobins, red blood coupocles, body weights. CRP tests and lepromin reactions of all cases and these results were as follows;
1) The average BI and BC were gradually decreased form year to year and in 2 cases of patient the leprosy bacilli was comp.~etely disappeared, and there was no significant difference in the age groups.
2) In the BI of the same individual for 4 years, cases of decrease were 52.08%, cases of increase were 29.17, and cases of no change were 13.75;x, and in the BC of the sameindividual for 4 years, decreased saes v,-ere 64.28% increased cases were 35.72;x..
3) In the same individual for 4 years, the cases of increased BI and BC were L. S3%, cases of decreased BI and BC were 33.34;x, cases of decreased BI and increased BC tivere 35.90;;, cases of increased BI and decreased BC were L. 82;x, cas~s of no change of BI and increased BC only were 2.5G;x and cases of ro change of BC and increased BI only were ? 56; ;.
4) On clinical observation for 4 years, infiltration, nodule formation I:NL and neuralgia were lesser subsided, positive conversion of lepromin of reaction was only one case, positive CRP test -ere dereasd from 71.43;;; to 66.67;~~, and I:b, REC and body weight were little increased slightly
